Troy LeRoy Perkins

Troy LeRoy Perkins, 86, of Silsbee died November 17, 2010 at his residence. Born January, 25, 1924 in Arkansas, he was the son of Lula Fuqua and Olie Perkins. Mr. Perkins was a resident of the area for most of his life and was a United States Navy veteran. After thirty-four years as an operator with Ameripol Synpol, he retired.
Mr. Perkins was a good OCAW man who believed in his union. He enjoyed gardening, liked playing the slot machines, and was a fair and honest man, as well as a hard worker. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was good to everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Cravy of Silsbee; children, Beverly Reid and her husband Kenneth, Fred Perkins and his wife Cynthia, Gary Perkins and his wife Betty, and Carolyn Perkins all of Port Neches; step children, Daphne Cravy and David Cravy and his wife Tammy all of Silsbee; brother, O. B. Perkins and his wife Idafaye of New Boston; sister, Loyce McMorris and her husband Mack of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; seven grandchildren; four step grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland followed by burial at Oak Bluff Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday evening, November 19, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
