Lorene “Mema” Johnson, 94, of Beaumont, died Thursday, November 18, 2010, at Vidor Health and Rehabilitation. She was born June 26, 1916, in Quitman, to Lillie Taylor and James Burgess. Lorene was a secretary for the city bus lines.
Survivors include her daughter, Marilyn Schiesler and her husband Pat of Vidor; sister, Donnie Simms of Quitman; eight grandchildren, James LeJune, Troy LeJune, Connie LeJune Clement, Tamara Johnson, Dawson Johnson, Samantha Bichon, Paul Schiesler, and Michelle Schiesler; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Carolyn “Snooky” LeJune; son, Billy Johnson; eleven siblings; grandson, David Schiesler; and granddaughter, Terry LeJune Norris.
Her graveside service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Broussard’s.
