Hortense "Kitty" Stanley

Hortense “Kitty” Stanley, 81, of Kountze died Sunday, November 14, 2010, at her residence. She was born October 29, 1929, in Sulphur, Louisiana to Thomas Etna and Elizabeth (Hennigan) Horton. A resident of Kountze most of her life, she was a homemaker and former owner of Pine Ridge Egg Farm.
She is survived by her children, Margaret Colley of Hankamer, Billie Jean Mercer of Hemphill, Charlie Mercer of Liberty, Ray Stanley of Kountze, and Ronnie Stanley, Sr. of Kountze; caretaker, Rusty Stanley of Kountze; nineteen grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Walter Ray Stanley, Sr.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with burial to follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery in Sour Lake. A gathering of family and friends will be Tuesday, November 16, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Broussard’s.
