Janis Carol Dupuy, 61, of Beaumont, died Sunday, November 14, 2010. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, Janis was born January 28, 1949, to Joann Youngblood and Herbert Dupuy. She graduated from Lamar University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree and was a retired Probation Officer with Jefferson County.
Survivors include her mother, Joann Brown Youngblood of Beaumont; father, Herbert C. Dupuy, Sr. of Houston; sister, Susan Gibbs of Vidor; nephews, Matthew Gibbs and his wife Erica of Westlake, Louisiana and Kyle Gibbs of Beaumont; great nephews, Jaydon Gibbs, Grayson Gibbs; and great niece, Olivia Gibbs, all of Westlake, Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert C. Dupuy, Jr.; and step-father, Robert Youngblood.
Her memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 680 Calder, Beaumont under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with interment to follow in St. Mark’s Columbarium. A gathering of family and friends will follow the service in The Cloister. A family committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium.
