Gabriela Paguntalan, 88, of Beaumont, Texas died Saturday, November 13, 2010, at Dubuis Hospital in Beaumont. Born March 18, 1922, in Manila, Philippines, Gabriela had lived in the Beaumont area for many years.
Survivors include her sons, Alberto Carino of Philippines, Angel Paguntalan, Jr. and his wife Remedios of New York, New York and Carlos Paguntalan and his wife Edna of Philippines; daughters, Fe Rafael and her husband Fred of Philippines, Edna Rasul of Beaumont, Texas, Maria Lourdes Perez and her husband Oscar of Round Rock, Texas, Maria Zenaida Dayoan and her husband Leonardo of Beaumont, Texas, Angelita P. Ocampo and her husband Rogelio of Philippines and Alma Calub and her husband Cris of Philippines; twenty-one grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and sister, Ursula Arandela of Winnipeg, Canada.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Angel Paguntalan; daughter, Leticia Paguntalan; sister, Alberta Cacao; daughter-in-law, Nieves Carino; and son-in-law, Abdul Shokour Rasul.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 17, 2010, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys, Beaumont, Texas under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, Texas. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday, November 16, 2010, at Broussard’s with a gathering of her family and friends to follow. There will be additional services and burial for Gabriela in the Philippines at a later date.
