Rose Cavaretta Modica, 89, of Beaumont, died Friday, November 12, 2010. She was born on September 28, 1921, to Josephine and Lewis Cavaretta. She lived most of her life in Beaumont where she and her husband owned and operated a local business, Modica Gas & Oil.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Modica.
She is survived by her son, P.J. Modica and his wife Carolyn of Beaumont; daughter, Jean Ann Mosely-Anselmo and her husband Charles of Port Neches; grandchildren, Ashley Mosely McGehee and her husband Mark, Taylor Mosely and his wife Katie, and Michele Caruthers; and four great-grandchildren, Maddie, Todd, Moira and Opal.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Street, with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, November 14, 2010, at Broussard’s with a Rosary to be recited at 5:00 p.m.
