Edwin Alfred Johnsen

Edwin A. Johnsen, 91, of Beaumont, died Sunday, November 7, 2010, at his residence. A native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born to Matilda Hagburg and John Peter Johnsen on October 8, 1919.
Edwin was the owner of Johnsen’s Wholesale, a family business that his parents founded in 1923. He was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II and a member of Major Drive Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Johnsen of Beaumont; children, Peter Johnsen and his wife Jobeth of Beaumont, Ida Jane Collins and her husband Daniel of Evadale, Julie Ann Matos and Thomas Forest Johnsen and his wife Cristal all of Beaumont; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be 6:00 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will follow his service Thursday evening at Broussard’s. A family committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium.
