Tommy Watson Hinson, II, 51, of Beaumont passed away peacefully Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was born February 17, 1959 in Port Arthur to Tommy Watson and Marie Hazel (Blankenship) Hinson.
He began his career in banking while in Houston and then relocated to Beaumont to be closer to his family. It was here in Beaumont that his lifelong passion for historical home restoration blossomed. His work was recognized by receiving Beaumont’s first Preservation Award in 1996, with his home featured on the cover of the City of Beaumont’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the same year.
He is survived by the love of his life and partner of twenty-three years, Stephen Wetzel; and by many other relatives and friends who had the privilege of knowing Tom throughout his life.
Tommy, an only child, was preceded in death by his parents, Tommy Watson Hinson and Marie Blankenship Hinson.
A funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin, Beaumont. A committal service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 31, 2010, at Memorial Park Cemetery, Jasper. A gathering of his family and friends will be 1:00 p.m., until the service at Broussard’s.

Tommy had a huge capacity for love and kindness that radiated from within, and freely gave to every living creature. He was truly a gift from God to the world.
