Roger Allen Simmons, 58, of Kountze died Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Roger was born January 5, 1952 in Bryan, Texas to Floyd Allen and Mildred Fay (Smith) Simmons. A resident of Kountze the last three years, he was a crew boat captain. He was a member of Central Baptist Church in Kountze.
He is survived by his mother, Mildred Crain and her husband Reverend Aaron Hope Crain of Kountze; sister, Rhonda Fay Taylor of Orange; brother, David Alden Simmons of Kountze; and fiancé, Margaret Rose Davis of Kountze.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010, at Central Baptist Church, in Kountze with Reverend Aaron Leger officiating. Burial will follow at Jordan Cemetery in Honey Island. A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, October 29, 2010, 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze.
