Lorena Rita Grandchampt, 82, of Beaumont died Saturday, October 23, 2010, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont.
She was born August 10, 1928, to Frank and Anise (Crater) Dugas. A native of Nome and lifelong resident of the Beaumont area, she was a retired manager in retail sales.
She is survived by her daughter, Sherry Grandchampt of Beaumont; sons, Terry Chilton and Roger Chilton; sisters, Thelma Lowe of Nome and Lillian Hargraves of Winnie; thirteen grandchildren, Shonna Grandchampt, Patrick Grandchampt, Derek Grandchampt, Stephanie Perkins, April Dixson, Brandon Herring, Kristin Herring, Ashley LaDay, Jack Chilton, Tammy Hickman, Danny Chilton, Clay Chilton and Casey Chilton; and nineteen great grandchildren, Kaiden LaDay, Kaili LaDay, Nicole Perkins, Leah Perkins, Lauren Perkins, Shelby Perkins, Sheldon Perkins, Megan Dixson, Derek Burns, Courtney Herring, Whitney Herring, Braiden Herring, Dylan Johnson, Tristan Johnson, Darren Johnson, Brooke Godbey, Grayson Chilton, Hannah Chilton and Jack William Chilton II.
She is preceded in death by her husband, P.G. Grandchampt; son, Patrick Grandchampt; and daughter, Kimberly Herring.
Her funeral service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 27, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with burial to follow at China Cemetery. A gathering of her family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 26, 2010, at Broussard’s.
