Edwin "Sonny" Lee Bush
September 19, 1936 - October 21, 2010
Edwin L. “Sonny” Bush, loving husband, father, and grandfather, 74, of Nederland died October 21, 2010 at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas in Beaumont. A native of Newton, Sonny was raised in Beaumont and graduated from South Park High School. He attended Lamar College and was a United States Air Force Veteran. After thirty-four years of service as a line foreman, he retired from Gulf States Utilities. A resident of Nederland for fifty years, he was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Bobbye Hille Bush of Nederland; daughter, Kay Leigh Ballance and her husband David of Houston; sons, Kraig Alan Bush and his wife Donna of Groves and Kyle Van Bush of Plainview; sister, Michelle Brand of Colorado; grandsons, Jason Ballance, Jacob Ballance and Jonathon Ballance all of Nederland, Trent Bush and Grant Bush both of Groves, and Joseph Friberg of San Antonio; and great grandson, Conlyn Ballance. He was preceded in death by his parents Ira Bush and Monnie Edgar.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p .m. Sunday, October 24, 2010 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 12th Street, Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be Saturday evening, October 23, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
