Melody Lynn Edwards, 53, of Sour Lake, died Sunday, June 20, 2010, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.
Born November 5, 1956, in Palestine, Texas to Laura Cross and Herman Wesley Johnson; Melody had been a resident of Sour Lake for many years and was an insurance adjuster with Crawford and Company for more than thirty-five years. She enjoyed teaching Sunday school at First Baptist Church in Sour Lake and was a member of the Hardin-Jefferson Band Booster Club.
Survivors include her husband of seventeen years, Lloyd Edwards of Sour Lake; son, Jonathan Edwards of Sour Lake; father, Wesley Johnson of Goodrich; brother, Lonny Johnson and his wife Michelle of Huntsville; nieces, Jennifer Moore and her husband Waylon, and Lori Johnson; and aunt, Margaret Isbell and her husband C.B. of Bevil Oaks.
Her mother, Laura Cross Johnson, preceded her in death.
A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her memorial service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday, June 25, 2010, at First Baptist Church, 765 6th Street, Sour Lake. A family committal will be at Broussard’s Crematorium.
