Bennie Royce McMillan, 53, of Honey Island died Thursday, May 20, 2010, at his residence. Bennie was born October 18, 1956, in Kountze, Texas to Ralph Felix and Thelma Juanita (Tatum) McMillan. A lifelong resident of the Kountze area, he was a 1975 graduate of Kountze High School and was a welder.
Survivors include his son, Courtney Royce McMillan of Kountze; daughter, Leslie Haralson of Kountze; sister, Beverly Burchfield of Honey Island; brother, Harrison McMillan of Honey Island; and grandchildren, Courtney, Justin, and Johnathan Haralson.
He is preceded in death by his parents and uncle, George McMillan.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010, at Broussard’s, 530 W. Monroe, Kountze with Reverend Alvin Tomlinson officiating. Burial will follow at Sutton Cemetery in Honey Island. A gathering of family and friends will be Sunday, May 23, 2010, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Broussard’s.
