Marcus J. Luke, 60, of Fannett, died Wednesday, April 28, 2010, at Memorial Hermann Baptist Beaumont Hospital.
He was born August 2, 1949, in Franklin, Louisiana to Yvonne (DeCuir) Luke and Herbert Luke. Marcus had lived in the Beaumont area for over forty years and was owner/operator of Hardee’s in Nederland from the 1970’s until 2001. Subsequent to Hardee’s, he owned and operated a transportation business. He was a United States Army veteran.
Survivors include his son, Heath Luke and his wife Janell of Humble; daughter, Brandy O’Quinn and her husband Kevin of Lumberton; his wife, Elizabeth Lindsey of Fannett; step-son, John Fondren and his wife Amber of St. Petersburg, Florida; step-daughter, Angel Fondren of Houston; four grandchildren, Talon Luke, Kaden O’Quinn, Ava Luke and Jadyn Fondren; brothers, Royce Luke and his wife Gail and Herb Luke all of Nederland and Kenny Luke and his wife Bobbie of New Iberia, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Randy Luke; and sister, Myra Wynne.
His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont with a committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, 5150 Stivers, Beaumont. A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Broussard’s.
