Travis L. Johnson, 76, of Silsbee, died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at Memorial Hermann Baptist Hospital in Beaumont. Travis was born in Henderson, Texas on July 20, 1933 to Lee Roy and Crystal Aline (Tipps) Johnson.Travis graduated from Carlyle High School in Price, Texas and had resided in Silsbee since 1996. He was a retired instrument technician for Texaco Chemical, a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Silsbee and he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
Travis is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years, Sue Johnson of Silsbee; his daughter, Melinda Campbell and her husband Billy of Lumberton; grandsons, Michael, Merritt and Matthew Campbell; his brother, Loring Johnson and his wife Mary of Garland; his sister-in-law, Pat Johnson of Jacksonville, Arkansas and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at Broussard’s in Silsbee with burial to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery in Kountze. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
