Jack Milton Ramsey
May 23, 1924 - April 14, 2010

Jack “Papa” Milton Ramsey, 85, of Lumberton, died Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at residence in Lumberton.

 

He was a life long resident of Lumberton and a retired electrician supervisor of Bethlehem Steel.  Jack was in the United States Navy and served his country during World War II.

 

He is survived by his son, Michael Ramsey of Kountze; daughters, Barbara Smith of Goliad, Belinda Nation and her husband Fred of Lumberton, and Beverly Weaver and Frank Peveto of Orange; sister, Ione Magliolo of Georgetown; grandchildren, Robert Smith and his wife Bonnie of Victoria, Jared Smith and his wife Tammy of Vidor, Elisa Faust and her husband Danny of Round Rock, Evy Lakey of Vidor, Gary Paul Mitcham and Dianna Ellis and her husband Brad all of Houston, April Peveto and her husband Derek of Orange, and Adam Nation and Megan Harrod of Lumberton; great grandchildren, Ryan Smith and Taylor Smith both Vidor, Amber Smith of Victoria, Macy Faust and Emily Faust of Round Rock, Skyla Lakey of Vidor, Sophia Grace Ellis of Houston, and Jordan Peveto and Reagan Peveto both of Orange; and great-great grandchild, Wyatt Manning of Highland.

 

Jack is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Grace Weaver Ramsey; sisters, Yvonne Sealy and Nell Cooley; son-in-law, Merrill Smith; and great grandson, Landon Peveto.

 

Funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee, with burial to follow at Davis Cemetery in Beulah Springs.  A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, April 16, 2010, 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Broussard’s.
