Jess "J. W." Willard Mahon
June 23, 1921 - March 2, 2010

J. W. Mahon, 88, of Winnie died March 2, 2010 at the Harbor Hospice of Beaumont.

 

A native of Annona, Texas, J. W. lived most of his life in the Winnie area.  He worked as an iron worker for Dollinger Steel Specialty before retiring and was a U. S. Army World War II veteran.

 

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2010, at the First Baptist Church, 120 E. Pear St. with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie. A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Broussard’s.

 

J. W. is survived by his loving wife of sixty-two years, Gertrude Mahon of Winnie; sons, Ray Mahon and his wife Susan of Hamshire, Tommy Mahon, of Winnie, Jimmy Mahon and his wife Debbie and Pete Mahon and his wife Debbie all of Hamshire; daughter, Lola Stelly of Hayes, Louisiana; twelve grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.

In leiu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Winnie, P. O. Box 665, Winnie, Texas 77665.
