Herman Cummings, 99, of Nederland, died Thursday, December 31, 2009 at The Medical Center of Southeast Texas in Port Arthur.
Graveside service will be 2:30 pm Monday, January 4, 2010 at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches under the direction of Broussard’s in Nederland. A gathering of family and friends will be from 12 pm to 2 pm Monday, January 4, 2010 at the mortuary.
Mr. Cummings was a native of Athens, Texas and lived in the Nederland area since 1942. He retired after 33 years of service as an operator for Gulf Oil and was a member of First Baptist Church in Nederland. He was an endowed member of Cosmopolitan Masonic Lodge # 872 A.F & A.M and enjoyed working in his garden.
Mr. Cummings is survived by his daughter, Martha Busby and her husband Tom of Nederland; granddaughter, Kris Smith of Beaumont; grandson, Don Busby and his wife Jane of Nederland; great-grandchildren, Angie, Ryan, Megan, Paige and Adam and great-great grandchildren, Connor and Liam. He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy years, Addie Cummings and his granddaughter, Laura Busby.
