Lillian May Abshire
August 8, 1925 - December 28, 2009

 

Lillian Abshire, 84, of Winnie went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2009, at Hermann Memorial Baptist Hospital.

 

She was a native of Morse, Louisiana and had lived in the Winnie area for more than sixty-five years.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 31, 2009, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 W. Buccaneer Drive in Winnie with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of  Broussard’s, 134. W. Buccaneer Drive.  A gathering of family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday with a rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Mrs. Abshire is survived by her loving husband of sixty-five years, Curtis Abshire of Winnie; sons, Harold “Popeye” Abshire of Winnie, Tommy Abshire of Seabrook; daughters, Concetta Rollins and her husband Malcom, Kay Benson, Kim Mazzola and her husband Johnny all of Winnie; sisters, Vina Breaux of Winnie, Jeanette Verde of Beaumont, Trixie Bertrand and her husband Alex of Winnie; brother, Reed Benoit and wife Edelia; seventeen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends.
