Willard Permenter

Willard Permenter, 88, of High Island, died December 25, 2016. He was born on May 17, 1928, in Shelbyville, to Ray Edna Snyder Permenter and Price Andy Permenter.

Willard was a United States Army veteran. He retired from the Oilfield and was a member of High Island Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Melba Permenter of High Island; children, Glen Permenter and his wife, Fe, of Hamshire; Evelyn Charrier of Winnie; Annie Barrow and her husband, Benny and Punckle Permenter, all of High Island; and Wesley Permenter and his wife, Susie, of Hamshire; grandchildren, Robin, Kate, Phil, Brandi, Justin, Joch, Bo, Jessica, and Aaron; eighteen great-grandchildren and one on the way; numerous other family members; and a host of many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother; and one sister.

A gathering of Mr. Permenter’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016, St. Matthew's Methodist Church, 1308 Weeks Avenue, High Island, with interment to follow at High Island Cemetery, High Island.
