Al Gajeske

Al Gajeske
February 10, 1927 - November 27, 2016

Al Gajeske, 89, of Nederland, died Sunday, November 27, 2016. He was born on February 10, 1927, in Beaumont, to Mollie Lucy Sump Gajeske and Alfred Albert Gajeske.

 

Al was a United States Navy veteran having served in World War II. He retired from Gulf States Utilities as a purchasing agent with over twenty-five years of service. Al was a manufacturers representative for various electrical supply companies. He was a big fan of steam trains.  Al will also be remembered as a longtime funeral associate at Broussard’s in Nederland. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Nederland.

 

Survivors include his wife of thirty years, Virginia Bailey of Nederland; sons, Edward “Beau” Stanton Gajeske of Vidor and William Michael Gajeske and his wife, Buffy, of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Michael, Ryan, John, Emily, and Molly Gajeske and Christopher and Shawn Baird; stepchildren, David and Kris Bailey; and mother of his children, Shirley Ann Stanton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

 

A gathering of Mr. Gajeske’s family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena Avenue, Nederland, with his funeral service following at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 3, 2016, under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
