Malcolm Mack “Sonny” “PaPa”
Gunter, 85, of Spurger, died Friday, November 25, 2016. He was born on March 11, 1931, in Texarkana, Texas,
to Verna Brower and Harry Malcolm Gunter.
Malcolm served his country in the United States Marine during the Korean
Conflict where he earned a Purple Heart and later retired from Ameripol-Synpol
after forty-three years of employment.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce
Gunter; children, Wayne Gunter and his wife, Laurie, of Spurger; Weldon Gunter
of Minneapolis, Minnesota;
and Ronald Gunter and his wife, of Fort
Worth; grandchildren, Laura Marie Gunter, Paul Gunter,
Stacey Gunter, Holly Gunter, and Eric Gunter; nine great-grandchildren; and two
great-great-grandchildren. He is
preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Shirley Griffin and Dewanda
Gunter.
A gathering of Mr. Gunter’s
family and friends will begin at 12:00 p.m., with his service at 1:00 p.m.,
Tuesday, November 29, 2016, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. His interment will follow at Franks Branch
Cemetery, Fred.
