Geraldine "Jerry" Breen Follmer

Geraldine “Jerry” Breen Follmer, 87, of Beaumont, died Friday, October 14, 2016, at Pelican Bay Assisted Living, Beaumont. She was born on January 14, 1929, in Beaumont, to Elizabeth Collins Breen and Patrick Breen, and had been a lifelong resident of Beaumont.

Jerry attended St. Anne Catholic School and graduated from St. Anthony High School in 1947. While her children were attending St. Pius X Catholic School, she became the P.E. teacher there. Jerry later worked for French High School in the attendance office and retired from there.

She enjoyed traveling, volunteering, having family gatherings, spending time at her beach house, and baking with her granddaughter.

Jerry is survived by her children, Butch Follmer and his partner, Arnel Punongbayan, of East Hampton, New York; Lea Anne Harvey and her husband, Bubba, of Beaumont; and Mark Follmer and his wife, Caroline, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Patrick Follmer, Jr., and Caitlin Harvey; and great-grandchildren, Seth Follmer and Gavin Follmer.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Everett Follmer; son, Patrick Follmer; sisters, Sissy McKinley and Marie Barrett; and brothers, Patrick Breen and Mike Breen.

A gathering of Mrs. Follmer’s family and friends will begin 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Sunday, October 16, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 17, 2016, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 5075 Bignor Road, Beaumont, with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
