LeeRoy Graeter

LeeRoy Graeter, 86, of Nederland, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016. He was born on June 19, 1930, in Paige, to Ellie Kunkel Graeter and Ernest H. Graeter.

LeeRoy was a United States Air Force veteran. He retired after thirty-two years as Executive Vice President of Market Basket. LeeRoy enjoyed gardening and spending time at his beach house in Crystal Beach. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church.  

Survivors include his son, Ted Graeter and his wife, Dawn, of Nederland; grandchildren, Ryan and his wife, Valerie, Ashley and Ivan, Julie and her husband, Jim, and Jesse; great-grandchildren, Fern, Ruby, Luna, and Tilly; and brother, Harold Graeter of Memphis, Tennessee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of forty-eight years, Barbara Graeter; daughter, Deborah Murphy; four brothers; and five sisters.

A gathering of Mr. Graeter’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 2711 Helena Avenue, Nederland. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Nederland, with his interment following at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
