David
Ray Gay, 71, of Livingston, died Tuesday, October 4, 2016, at his home. He was born on March 11, 1945, in Houston, to
Mary Irene Buchanan Gay and Edgar Ray Gay.
Mr. Gay was a thirty-four year veteran of the City of Beaumont Police
Department and retired on May 31, 2000, as Police Patrol Sergeant. He was also a charter member of the Christian
Fellowship Worship Center in Beaumont.
Mr. Gay loved to grow Sego Palms and took great pride in his always
beautifully manicured yard. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle
and spending time on the lake riding his jet ski.
Mr.
Gay is survived by his wife, Sandra “Sandie K~” White Gay; four daughters,
Stacy Durham and her husband Alan, of Magnolia; An’drea Boren and husband
Michael, of Deer Park; Angella Peveto and husband Herbie, of LaPorte; and Alyson
Kirchner, of Houston; one sister, Diane Gay Abbott, of Bogata; mother-in-law,
Irene White of Beaumont; and four grandchildren, David Alan Durham, Danielle
Durham, Jacey Hamilton, and Hunter Boren.
He
was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Ginger Colleen Gay; and
grandson, Cole Davis.
A
gathering of Mr. Gay’s family and friends will begin 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.,
Thursday, October 6, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His
funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016, at Christian
Fellowship Worship Center, 3950 Pointe Parkway, Beaumont, with his interment to
follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
