Thomas Hinson
June 2, 1931 - September 27, 2016

Thomas M. Hinson, 85, of Nederland, died Tuesday September 27, 2016.  He was born on June 2, 1931 in Evans, Louisiana to William and Minnie Hinson.

Thomas was a member of Triangle Baptist Church in Nederland where he served and worshiped faithfully for many years along with his family.

Thomas was in the Army where he served stateside during the Korean War.  He then worked at BF Goodrich for many years and made great friends during his years of work.  He enjoyed gardening and fed many people with his famous tomatoes and cucumbers.  He was an avid hunter along with his wife, brothers, sons, grandsons, and nephews.

Survivors include his children, Travis Johnson and wife Linda, David Hinson and wife Gina, Cindy Jefferson and husband Wayne; grandchildren, Tina Lozano and wife Katrina, Damon Johnson and wife Lori, Jennifer Streeter, Jacob Hinson, Josh Hinson, Hollie Phillips and husband Nathan, Micah Jefferson and wife Paulina; great-grandchildren, Amber Diaz, Antonio Diaz, Ashton Diaz, Laura Jordan and her husband Clayton, Lucas Rossi, Cameron Rossi, Hannah Johnson,  Avery Streeter, Landon Streeter, Kyndal Yoder, Allie Hinson, Chesley Phillips, Drew Phillips, Mya Grychajt, Morgan Jefferson, and Charlotte Jefferson; great-great grandchildren Adelyn Jordan, Sadie Jordan, Adrian Diaz, Anastasia Diaz; niece, Dana Waldrep, nephews, Randy Brown and Danny Brown, and numerous other nieces, nephews; brothers Jimmy Hinson and wife Davie, Tommy Hinson and wife Mary, sister Nita Jones, and many other loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his parents, precious wife Charlotte Hinson, sisters Lydia Hinson, Marie Hinson, and brother Johnny Hinson.

A gathering of Mr. Hinson's family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Broussard's, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 2, 2016, at Broussard's, with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
