Valerie Denton Miller, 78, of Nederland, died Thursday,
September 22, 2016. She was born on April 24, 1938, in Rushden England, to Ivy
and Arthur Denton.
Valerie spent over fifty years leaving a legacy in her
adopted country and was proud the call the USA home. She will be remembered for
her smile and love of life. Valerie impacted all those who crossed her path.
Left to cherish her memory are daughter, Joleain McPherson
and her favorite son-in-law, Bruce, of Nederland; son, Wesley Miller and his
wife, Suzanne, of Carrollton; grandchildren, Ben and Toni McPherson; Meagan,
Caitlin, Alaine, and Gillian Miller; grandpups, Rudy and Louie; two brothers,
Fred and Michael Denton; sister, Julie Plummer; and many nieces and nephews in
England.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Lyle
Miller.
A memorial service for Ms. Miller will be 1:00 p.m.,
Saturday, October 1, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street,
Nederland, with a luncheon to follow.
