J. C. Garvin, 85, of Winnie, died Wednesday, September 21,
2016. He was born on September 17, 1931, in Hamshire, to Idell Cormier Garvin
and James V. Garvin.
J.C. was a rice farmer for thirty-one years. He worked at
Broussard’s for ten years and he also worked for Keating Chevrolet. J.C.
enjoyed working on lawnmowers and being with his wife and daughter.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-nine years, Sharon Hall
Garvin, of Winnie; daughter, Sherril Garvin of Winnie; sister, Emily Fischer of
Hamshire; and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and
friends.
A gathering of Mr. Garvin’s family and friends will be from
2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134
West Buccaneer, Winnie. His graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday,
September 24, 2016, at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
