Maxie Weldon Buckner

Maxie Weldon Buckner, 85, of Beaumont, died Thursday, September 22, 2016, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. He was born on February 11, 1931, in Center, Texas, to Bernice Jones Buckner and Johnie L. Buckner.

Maxie was a United States Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was also a retired locomotive engineer.

He is survived by his daughter, LaTaine Mullins of Beaumont; granddaughter, Kelsey Eshliman and her husband, James, of Lumberton; and great-granddaughter, Jacey Eshliman.

Maxie is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bettye Buckner; sisters, Helen Hare and Lucille Hill; and brother, Charles Buckner.

A memorial service for Mr. Buckner will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 29, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His cremation will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
