Ella Maudette Lusk Turkleson

Ella
Maudette Lusk Turkleson, 94, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016, at her
home in Lumberton. She was born March 25, 1922, to Lillian A. Teel Jones and
T.W. Jones, of Sour Lake.
Maudette
worked as an accountant and auditor for various companies in Beaumont and the
surrounding areas. In her earlier years, Maudette grew up ranching and farming
in Hardin County. She often recounted tales of working cattle and hogs on
horseback with her dad particularly during the 1940’s when her husband and
brother were serving their country during World War II.
Survivors
include her son, Frank B. Lusk and his wife, Elaine, of Sour Lake;
stepdaughters, Mary Ellen Rouen of Houston; Dr. Peggy Turkleson of Montgomery,
Alabama; stepson, Don Turkleson and his wife, Deborah, of Houston; eighteen
grandchildren; twenty-three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She
is preceded in death by her husbands, John R. Lusk, Jr. and Robert E.
Turkleson; sons, James R. Lusk and Wayne A. Lusk; stepdaughter, Sharon Ann
Eckelkamp; brother, Laverne Jones; and sister, Wyvetta Hobbs.
A
gathering of the Lusk/Turkleson family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until
8:00 p.m., with a Christian Vigil to begin at 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 19,
2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016, at Infant
Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton. Her interment will
follow at Pine Ridge Cemetery, Sour Lake.
In
lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions be made to Infant Jesus

your choice.
