Barbara E. Hyland

Barbara E. Hyland, 80, of League City, died Saturday, September 10, 2016. She was born on January 28, 1936, in Syracuse, New York, to Marie Lewis Ray and Robert Ray.

Barbara was an avid reader, enjoyed playing cards and Sudoku. She enjoyed taking cruises and going to the beach. Barbara retired from Hamshire-Fannett I.S.D.

Survivors include her daughter, Cindy Hyland Segura of League City; son, Mark R. Hyland of Kemah; grandchild, Ashley Nardiello and her husband, Chris; great-grandchildren, Erin and Jenna Gonzales; brothers, Bob Ray and his wife, Cathy, of Fairfax, Virginia and Rick Ray of Binghamton, New York; brother-in-law, George L. Hyland and his wife, Linda, of Bixby, Oklahoma.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hyland, Jr.; son, Fred “Chip” Hyland, III; grandchildren, Lindsay Segura and Katrina Segura.

A gathering of Mrs. Hyland’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with her Rosary recited at 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at St. Louis Catholic Church, 315 Buccaneer Drive, Winnie, with her interment to follow at Broussard Cemetery, Fannett.
