Judith Cashen Allen

Judith Cashen Allen, 76, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, September 7, 2016, at Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont. She was born on October 29, 1939, in Clovis, New Mexico, to Florence Brasseaux Cashen and John Cashen, and had been a longtime resident of Beaumont.

She was an accomplished harpist having studied since she was 6 years old.  Judith entered into the Cenacle as a novitiate in Chicago after graduating from Rice University and served from 1963-1968.  From 1980-1985, she was co-owner of ABC (Allen Book Center).

Judith is survived by her husband, Fred Allen, of Beaumont; numerous nieces and nephews and a long-term friend Maxine Johnston.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Florence and John Cashen.

A Rosary for Mrs. Allen will be recited at 6:30 p.m., Monday, September 12, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 225 West Barkley, Sour Lake, with her interment to follow at Guedry Cemetery, Batson.
