Ann Reynolds Zernial

Ann Reynolds Zernial, 76, of Lumberton, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2016, in Beaumont. She was born March 4, 1940, to George A. and Martha Kohler Reynolds. Ann was educated in St. Anthony’s schools. Ann married Harvey Leon Zernial, Sr., in 1959. They had been married for forty-eight years and reared ten children before his death in 2007.

Ann was a stay-at-home wife and mother for most of those years, while she was also secretary and bookkeeper for their business, H.L. Zernial Painting and Decorating, later known as Zerco Painting. When Harvey retired on a disability in 1996, she went to work for KAT Construction in that same position, retiring in 2005.

Preceding Ann in death was their youngest son, Timothy Paul; her parents; and her brothers, Michael, John, and George Reynolds.

Survivors include her six daughters, Martha Wyatt McDonald and her husband, Gary; Cathy Bennett and her husband, Jamie; Barbara Roehrman and her husband, Robb; Susie Campbell and her husband, Bruce; Mary Golding and her husband, Michael; and Theresa McDonald; three sons, Harvey Zernial and his wife, Alex; Ronnie Zernial and his wife, Barbara; and Andy Zernial and his wife, Susan; thirty-five grandchildren; and thirty-nine great-grandchildren.

The greatest aspect of Ann’s life was her love for her family, especially her children. All God’s children were her children.

A gathering of Mrs. Zernial’s family and friends will begin 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, September 5, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with family remembrances at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 6, 2016, at Infant Jesus Catholic Church, 243 South LHS Drive, Lumberton, with her interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
