Sylvan "Tito" Carlin

Sylvan “Tito” Carlin,
81, of Beaumont, died Friday, August 26, 2016, at The Oaks of Beaumont. A
native and lifelong resident of Beaumont, he was born May 4, 1935, to Rafaela
Daniels Carlin and Antonio Carlin. Mr.
Carlin was a veteran of the United States Army and United States Marine Corp.
During his service, he developed a skill and love for the sport of boxing. He
boxed professionally for several years.
Mr. Carlin was a retired machinist at Oil City Brass Works.
Survivors include his
wife, Romona Carlin of Beaumont; sons, Edward Carlin and his wife Ursela and
Anthony Carlin, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Marcedez Carlin, Zachary
Carlin, Joshua Carlin, and Unise Carlin, all of Beaumont; and numerous nieces
and nephews.
He is preceded in death
by his parents.
A gathering of Mr.
Carlin’s family and friends will be from 12:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m., with a
Rosary recited at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Broussard’s, 2000
McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at
2:00 p.m. Thursday, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church, 767 Avenue A, Beaumont, with
interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
