Mary
Barbara Fallwell Huff, 81, of Sour Lake, formerly of McCall Creek, Mississippi,
and Nederland, Texas, died Saturday, August 20, 2016, at Christus Hospital-St.
Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born in Port Arthur, Texas, on June 28, 1935, to
Ida Jander Fallwell and Frances Roland Fallwell.
Barbara
was a woman of many talents. She loved to dance, sing, and especially loved the
outdoors. She was creative and adventurous, which made her a perfect Cub Scout
Den Mother and Camp Fire Leader, but more importantly an excellent Mom to five
stair-stepped children. Her home was
always “dressed” for the season and everyone was welcome. She was a natural
leader that was always ready to lend a hand to any project. She loved to paint, explore the beach, and
shop for that “perfect deal”. She planned the most competitive scavenger hunts
and served the most delicious meals. She was an author, publisher, poet, and
philosopher that is leaving her family and friends with an immeasurable
fortune.
Survivors
include her sons, Stephen R. Huff of McCall Creek, MS; Mark R. Huff and his
wife, Nell, and David W. Huff, all of Beaumont; daughter, Margaret Huff
Ronquille and her husband, David, of Sour Lake; son, John P. Huff and his wife,
Shel, of Beaumont; fourteen grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She
is preceded in death by her adored husband of 45 years, Lynas A. Huff; her
beloved sister, Julia Fallwell Robbins; and loving grandson, William A. Huff.
A
Rosary for Mrs. Huff will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, August 25, 2016,
at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, 225 West Barkley, Sour Lake. A memorial
mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Friday, August 26, 2016, at Our Lady of
Victory Catholic Church, Sour Lake. A graveside service will follow at 3:00
p.m. Friday, at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Palestine. Her cremation
arrangements were handled through Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction
