Rita J. Sistrunk Renkema

Rita J. Sistrunk Renkema, 71, of Hamshire, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016. She was born on September 26, 1944, in Port Arthur, to Laverna Bossier Sistrunk and Kirby Sistrunk.

Rita was raised in Nederland and owned and operated Rita’s Jewelry and Fashions before retiring and moving to Hamshire.

Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Fred Renkema; son, Coby Remkema, both of Hamshire; daughter, Cita Duges and her husband, Wayne, of Cypress; brother, Ronnie Sistrunk and his wife, Julie, of Fairfax, Virginia; and grandchildren, Bryant, Stephen, Landen, Kinley, and Kailyn Dugas. She is preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Renkema’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134 W. Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at First Baptist Church Hamshire, 25304 TX-124, Hamshire, with her interment following at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
