Major Jackie E. Edgar
March 22, 1924 - August 15, 2016
Major Jackie E. Edgar, 92, of Beaumont, died August 15,
2016. He was born on March 22, 1924, in Wingate, to Mary Strickland Edgar and
Ed Edgar.
Major Edgar retired from the United States Army and Air
Force, after twenty years of dedicated service. He was awarded many awards and
medals, including a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star, for his bravery and
dedication. He was always proud to be a veteran and enjoyed time at Veteran of
Foreign War Posts, wherever he lived. He owned and operated Jap Road Ranch and
enjoyed hunting, fishing, and visiting with friends, under the oak tree in his
back yard.
Survivors include sons, Jackie William Bukowski and his
wife, Deborah, of LaVernia, Texas; George Edgar, of St. Paul, Minnesota; daughters,
Jeanette Hagar and her husband, Edsel, of Hamlin, West Virginia; Carolyn
Goldman Eason and her husband, Lenn, of Sugarland, Texas; Albertine Coupé and
her husband, James, of Panama City Beach, Florida; Rosemary Cain and her
husband, Neil, of Salemburg, North Carolina; step-daughter, Cherryl McNutt, of
Lindale, Texas; eleven grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and a niece,
Mary Elizabeth Harris, of Alabama.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one
sister.
A private committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium,
Beaumont, with ennichment at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, under the
direction of Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie.
