Evelyn Menard

Evelyn Menard, 80, of Winnie, died Thursday, August 11, 2016. She was born October 3, 1935 in Crowley, Louisiana to Woodley Ella Wells and John Joseph Achten.  

Mrs. Menard was retired from Chambers County with twenty year’s service as a dispatcher. She enjoyed the beach, hunting and fishing, and most of all, she was an excellent cook.  

Survivors include sons, John Fontenot and his wife, Donna, of Austin; Darrell Daigle and his wife, Ava, of Lufkin; daughter, Madolyn Cleveland of Winnie; granddaughters, Ashley Daigle of Lufkin; Jessica Garza and her husband, Leo, of Winnie; great-granddaughter, Zanei Garza; sister, Frances Yates, of China.  

She was preceded in death by parents; and husband of thirty-seven years, Nelson Menard, Sr. 

A gathering of Mrs. Menard’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer Drive, Winnie. A graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Fairview Cemetery, 223 Cemetery Road, Winnie.
