Tom Cochran, 70, of Groves, died
Friday, July 15, 2016. He was born on September 17, 1945, in Port Arthur, to
Gertrude Byrd Cochran and John Taylor Cochran.
Tom enjoyed fishing, auto rides,
a good cold beer, family, camping, and his pets. He liked his fish aquariums.
Tom liked passing along his knowledge and storytelling. He had a twisted sense
of humor and loved telling jokes. At thirteen years old, Tom earned his Eagle
Scout Badge.
Survivors include his daughters,
Claire Provost and her husband, John and D’Ann Cochran, all of Nederland; son,
Taylor Cochran of Groves; grandchildren, James, Melanie, and Courtney;
great-grandchildren, Astrid, Emily, Elena, and Levi; and cousin, Joan Terrell. He was preceded in death by his
parents; and sisters, Betty Cochran and Vicki Kay Cochran.
In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions in Mr. Cochran’s name may be made to The
ALS Association Gift Processing Center, P.O. Box 6051, Albert Lea, Minnesota
56007, or any veterans group of choice.
A gathering of Mr. Cochran’s
family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 20,
2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral
service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 21, 2016, at Broussard’s. His interment
will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 22, 2016, at Houston National Cemetery, 10410
Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77038.
