Betty Louise Westcott,
85, of Wildwood, died Friday, July 15, 2016, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast
Texas, Beaumont. She was born on July 29, 1930, in Tulia, Texas, to Denye A.
Hughes Sowell and Lyles M. Sowell.
Survivors include her
daughters, Elaine Ferguson of Bridge City and Marsha Deaton and her husband,
Michael, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; son, John E. Westcott of Plano; seven
grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and brother, Howard Lyles Sowell and
his wife, Tana, of Old Hickory, Tennessee.
She is preceded in
death by her parents, Lyles and Denye Sowell; husband, Johnny Westcott; brother,
Gordon Sowell; sister, Virginia Holt; and grandson, Steven Grant.
A gathering of Mrs.
Westcott’s family and friends will begin at 11:00 a.m., with her funeral
service to follow at 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 19, 2016, at Wildwood Village
Mills United Methodist Church, 5934 FM 3063, Village Mills. Her interment will follow at Magnolia
Cemetery, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
