George "Rock" Roccaforte, Sr.

George “Rock” Roccaforte, Sr., 84, of Nederland, died Tuesday, July 12, 2016. He was born on June 30, 1932, in Port Arthur, to Annie Ramano Roccaforte and Sebastin Roccaforte. After his retirement from Texaco, working there for thirty-eight years, he enjoyed his time with family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Margie Roccaforte; children, Debbie Wilson and her husband, John, of Dallas; George Roccaforte, Jr., and his husband, James Hall, of Houston; Ruth Van Schoubroek and her husband, Jerry, of Nederland; Theresa Franz and her husband, Terry, of Buna; and David Roccaforte and his wife, Carla, of Mesquite; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mr. Roccaforte’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 or Southeast Texas Hospice, P.O. Box 2385, Orange, Texas 77631.

A gathering of Mr. Roccaforte’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 15, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 16, 2016, at Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, Nederland.
