Juanita Jones Pate

Juanita
Jones Pate was born October, 14, 1925, to Mr. and Mrs. Joseph J. Jones. She was a life-long resident of Beaumont and
graduated from Beaumont High School in 1943. In 1948, Juanita married Charles
W. Pate, Sr., and they later were blessed with four children. They lived a very
blessed life together. The good Lord felt it was time for her to leave this
world on July 6, 2016, and join the Father and all of her dear friends and
family members.
Juanita
will be greeted by her husband of forty-eight years, Charles W. Pate Sr.; her
beautiful daughter, Becky Pate; her parents; sister, Lou Ann Williams and her
husband Wayne; brother, Joseph Jones, Jr.; and son-in-law, Gene Meredith. She will also be greeted by nephews, Mark and
Joe Jr. Robicheau, and Gordon Jones, along with her Pate, Robicheau and
O’Gilvie in-laws.
Juanita
retired from Beaumont Independent School District after twenty-one years of
services, and was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She
enjoyed traveling and beach trips with the family. Juanita was a very loving mother and wife.
She
loved the holidays, especially Christmas. Juanita loved having all her family
around her. She also enjoyed her group of
friends that she played card games with. Juanita loved going to the casinos and
was ready to go anytime someone would take her.
Left
behind here to cherish her memory is daughter, Peggy Meredith; sons, Charles
(Win) Pate and his wife, Ginger and Paul Pate and his wife, Dee; grandchildren,
Jason and Kristan Meredith, Gina and Allan Cox, Brian Pate, Chris Pate and
Matthew Pate; great-grandchildren, Gabie and Tyler Meredith, and Meredith and AnnMarie
Cox; brother, Jerry Jones and his wife, Anita; sister-in-law, Emogene Jones;
and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In
2009, Juanita moved to Collier Park Assisted Living and loved it there. Her caretakers were a comfort to her,
especially Helen Rideau and Tommy Andress. She loved them very much. The family would like to thank Collier Park
and these sweet ladies.
Recently
Juanita moved to Pelican Bay Assisted Living and greatly appreciated the
wonderful staff that cared for her during her short time there. A special thanks to Krudi, and many thanks to
the staff at Girling Home Health who took care of her for many years.
A
gathering of Mrs. Pate’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00
p.m., Friday, July 8, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, July 9, 2016, at Broussard’s,
with her interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
