Jean Lamar

Jean Lamar, 88, of Warren, died Sunday, July 3, 2016. She was born on August 20, 1927, in Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Lucille Guicken Harvey and Claude Harvey.

Jean worked with cub and boy scouts. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Jean enjoyed going anywhere in the car and liked all the stops along the way. The trip itself, as well as the destination, were equally important.

Survivors include her sons, Larry Self of Warren and Dale Self of Austin; daughter, Dawn Lambert of Port Neches; granddaughter, Rene’ Dinscore of Port Neches; grandchildren, Joshua Dinscore, Elizabeth Dinscore; Connor Phillips, and Lucas Self; sister, Joyce Broome and her husband, W.T., of Ocean Springs, Mississippi; brother, Charles Harvey and his wife, Laura, of Moss Bluff, Louisiana; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Truman M. Self; husband, Paul Lamar, Jr.; brother, Daniel Harvey; and parents, Claude and Lucille Harvey.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to an organization of one’s choice.

Mrs. Lamar’s arrangements were handled under the direction of Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.
