Rosemary Reed

Rosemary Reed, 65, of Nederland, passed on Friday, June 24, 2016. She was born on October 24, 1950, in DeRidder, Louisiana, to Eileen Pearl Davis Pinder and Ottis Pete Pinder. 

Rosemary, always known as “Sister” to her family, loved children and raised many that were not her own. She was the neighborhood Mom. Rosemary was inspirational in raising Cathy Copeman Cumbee, Ruston Kennedy, and Danice Kennedy. She was there for everybody and loved by everybody. Rosemary was known as “The Road Runner”.

Survivors include her husband and companion of forty-eight years, Roy Reed, Sr. of Nederland; sons, Roy Reed, Jr. and his wife, Stephanie, of League City and Samuel Reed and his wife, Malandi, of Mauriceville; grandchildren, Trey, Bryan, Devin, and Emily Reed; great-granddaughter, Kambree Olivia Reed; brothers, Samuel Pinder and his wife, Shirley; Royce Pinder; Don Pinder and his wife, Melissa; Ottis Pinder and his wife, Jill; Christopher Pinder and his wife, Susan; and James Pinder and his wife, Kim; and sister, Brenda Kennedy and her husband, Rocklon.

A gathering of Mrs. Reed’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 27, 2016, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2016, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Meadow-Burks Cemetery, Merryville, Louisiana.
