Robert
Lee Rivers, 80, of Sour Lake, died Thursday, June 16, 2016. He was born on February 4, 1936, in James,
Texas, to Golden Vickery Rivers and William M. Rivers, and had been a resident
of Sour Lake since 2011. Robert was a retired fireman with the Longview Fire
Department. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church of Longview, and
has been a member of Praise Chapel in Sour Lake since 2011.
He
is survived by his wife, Beulah Marie Rivers; sons, Danny Rivers, of Longview
and Paul Rivers and his wife, LeAnn, of Sour Lake; daughter, Judy Rivers, of
Sour Lake; grandchildren, Dylan Rivers and Chloe Rivers; brother, William
Rivers and his wife, June, of Longview; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Special
thanks to the staff of Professional Health Care Hospice.
A
funeral service for Mr. Rivers will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 20, 2016, at
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at
Rosedale Cemetery, Sour Lake.
