David Nunez
July 2, 1930 - June 13, 2016
David Nunez, 85, of
Beaumont, died Monday, June 13, 2016, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas,
Beaumont. He was born on July 2, 1930, in Beaumont, to Maria Arroyo Nunez and
Cruz Nunez, and was a lifelong resident of the area.
David was a graduate of
St. Anthony High School in Beaumont in 1950. He went on to serve in the United
States Army for two years. David worked for thirty-eight years, before his
retirement, as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a
beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and a friend to so many people.
He will be deeply missed.
David is survived by
his wife, Yolanda Nunez; son, Raymond Nunez and his wife, Liz, all of Beaumont;
daughters, Christine Nunez, also of Beaumont; and Patricia Nunez Wong and her
husband, Jose, of Port Arthur; grandchildren, David Joseph Luquette; Natalia
Leija and her husband, Arturo; Jose Cruz Wong; Miranda Looney and her husband,
James; and Raymond Nunez, II; and great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Leija and
Natalee Leija.
He is preceded in death
by his parents; three brothers; and two sisters.
A Rosary will be
recited for Mr. Nunez at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, June 16, 2016, with a gathering
of his family and friends to follow, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue,
Beaumont. His funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 17, 2016, at
Broussard’s, with his interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
