Nancy Carolyn Mace Preble

Nancy
Carolyn Mace Preble, 86, of Sour Lake, died Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Baptist
Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. She was born on January 11, 1930, to
Marcella Burroughs Mace and Clay S. Mace, in Center Point, Indiana. Nancy
retired as the vice president of Preble Construction. She loved to cook and sew
and entertain at the Christmas parties she and Preb hosted. Nancy loved
Broadway plays, the movies, and TCM and was artistic and enjoyed exercising her
talents. Other things she enjoyed were feeding the birds and watching the deer
as they finished the bird food. Most of all, she loved her family and being a
wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Survivors
include her daughters, Cindy Preble of Bellaire; Julie Guidry of Sour Lake; and
Marcy Borel and her husband, Jim, of Sour Lake; grandchildren, Will Borel and
his wife, Tracy; Melissa Borel; Rachel Guidry; Chanel Preble; Mallorie Strubel
and her husband, Robert; Roxie Harris and her husband, Justin; and Charlie Preble;
seven great-grandchildren; brother, Don S. Mace and his wife, Shirley, of Port
Arthur; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She
is preceded in death by her husband, Charles P. Preble, Jr. and son, Perry
Preble.
A
gathering of Mrs. Preble’s family and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00
p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
Her graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 20, 2016, at Magnolia
Cemetery, 2291 Pine Street, Beaumont.
