Fred
D. Patterson, Jr., 95, of Beaumont, died Monday, June 6, 2016, at Christus
Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on January 5, 1921, in Guthrie,
Oklahoma, to Elgie Mae Shuler Patterson and Frederick D. Patterson, Sr., and

Fred’s
family moved to Galveston, TX, before his first birthday, and there he spent his

There he also met and married Claudia Catherine Wilkenson, with whom he
would spend 38 years of marriage. Fred
spoke often of the wonderful times he had in Galveston and always considered it
his home town. Fred moved his family to
Beaumont in 1961 where he established his membership with St. Mark’s Episcopal
Church and enjoyed serving as an Usher. While in Beaumont, Fred enjoyed playing
bridge with friends and neighbors, and later became an avid square dancer and
round dancer. In his later years, Fred
cherished his time spent with good friends and family,
and those times almost always included good food!

survived by his son, Frederick D. Patterson III and his wife, Julie, of
Beaumont; grandson, Dr. Brian David Patterson and his wife, Chelsea, of O’Fallon,
