William
Hansford “Bill” Saunders, Jr., 67, of Beaumont, died Sunday, June 5, 2016. He
was born on August 26, 1948, in Woodville, to Helen Howell Saunders and William
Hansford Saunders, Sr., and had been a longtime resident of the area.
Bill
is survived by his son, William Andrew Saunders; and daughter, Katherine
Saunders Young and her husband, Daniel, all of Beaumont; grandson, Cooper
Daniel Young; father, William Hansford Saunders, Sr., of Colmesneil; sisters,
Brenda Chiappetta, of Houston, Sherrie Ransonette, of Hamshire, Becky Saunders,
of Wimberley, and Regina Heiner, of Big Bend; brothers, Phillip Saunders, of
Dallas, Robert Saunders, of China, and Paul Saunders, of Colmesneil; former
wife, Margaret Haggard, of Beaumont; numerous nieces and nephews; and best friends,
Steve Falcone and his son, Philip Falcone, of Lumberton.
A
gathering of Mr. Saunders’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2016, at Sabine
Tabernacle, 1065 Hazel Street, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Sandhill
Cemetery, Colmesneil.
