Jimmie
F. Cox, 89, of Kountze, formerly a longtime resident of Beaumont, died Sunday,
May 29, 2016, at Dogwood Trails Manor, Woodville. She was born on May 27, 1927,
to Sallie Fezor Battle and Jim Battle, in Kirbyville.
Survivors
include her sons, Gary Cox and his wife, Susan, of Kountze; Keith Cox and his
wife, Milka, of Pflugerville; and Bruce Grumbles of Washington; daughter, Gale
Bataille of California; grandchildren, Kayla Buckner and her husband, Buddy and
Kale Cox, all of Silsbee and Adam Cox of Pflugerville; great-grandchildren,
Emily Buckner, Josiah Buckner, and Nathan Buckner; and sisters, Gladys Barr of
Great Falls, Montana; Verline Guess of Beaumont; and Dot Duarte of College
Station.
She
is preceded in death by her husband, Del Cox.
A
gathering of Mrs. Cox’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m., with her
funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at Broussard’s,
1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her entombment will follow at Magnolia
Cemetery, Beaumont.
